Cadillac XT5 retouching

This past summer I had the opportunity to work with the Rokkan agency (www.rokkan.com) based out of New York. Their creative team directed an ambitious photoshoot showcasing Cadillac vehicles in a variety of locations throughout New York City.

The images captured were outstanding! The locations were fascinating! Clean, crisp images lit beautifully! I couldn't have asked for better images to work on!

My job as a retoucher was to remove any photoshoot evidence (camera rigs, bounce cards, curtains and camera crew) while keeping the images as natural as possible. People and props were also photographed on location to be added to the scenes.

This image below was a running shot that needed the rig and its shadow deleted while filling in the moving street surface. The people in the background also needed to be retouched to feel natural in the scene with the amount of blur in the background.

The image above is a compilation of the photos that were selected by the client to be retouched together to look seamless and natural. The image below is the final retouched image.

A few months later we needed to create an new image showcasing the Cadillac XT5 in a silver body paint as well as a different trim package.

First, I simplified the the reflections and shifted the paint color to silver.

To showcase a different trim level, I brought the vehicle 3d data into Luxion Keyshot and rendered the specified trim level (front fascia and grill) in the correct perspective to match the existing image. Different wheels were photographed in position and spun in Adobe Photoshop. Changes were also made to the people and the background. The image below is the new image.

Thank you Ken and Billy! Cheers!
