Mackinac Island Lilac Festival Poster Entry

Last year I saw an instagram post for the Mackinac Island Lilac Festival Poster contest. I decided to give it a shot!

Having visited Mackinac Island a few summers prior, I had an SD card filled with photos that I took of scenes from the island. Only problem was.. . I visited in the end of July and didn't have any pictures of lilacs.

Luckily my sister has visited the Lilac Festival multiple times and took many pictures and happily shared her images with me.

I decided to go with my strengths in photo retouching and create a new photo out of a few different photos from my library as well as the pics my sister sent me. I submitted my new photo illustration and ended up in the top 20!

I didn't win but it was a fun experience. Cheers!
